Drill: fix a fade that Insta-Stop is cancelling

You need

  • yew2K loaded, controller in A1.
  • Left Fade or Right Fade On.
  • The Insta-Stop page location in your menu (it sits between Defense Assist and Infinite Stamina).

Insta-Stop fires a stop input before shooting off the dribble. That is useful for some shots and fatal for fades: the stop can cancel the fade animation. If your R2 fades keep collapsing into set shots, this is the first thing to check.

There are three fixes, and they are all in the mod menu or in your left hand.

  1. Confirm the symptom

    In online MyCourt, move left and fire R2 + tap L1 five times. Then move right and fire R2 + R3 five times. If the fade animation cancels or the shot is a plain jumper, continue.

  2. Check Insta-Stop

    Hold L2 / LT + Options / Menu. D-pad Right to the Insta-Stop page. The options are Off / Auto / Left-Trigger. If it reads Auto, that is your cause.

  3. Fix 1 — Off

    Up / Down to Off. This is yew's own setting. Re-run the ten fades.

  4. Fix 2 — Left-Trigger

    If you want Insta-Stop for other off-dribble shots, set it to Left-Trigger. It then fires only while L2 / LT is held, so a fade you start without L2 held is not interrupted.

  5. Fix 3 — hold the stick

    Hold the left stick in the fade direction through the whole animation. The script never drives the left stick; if you let go early, the game reads a stop.

  6. Re-tune if needed

    Once fades complete, read Shot Feedback. Early → raise that fade's value, late → lower it. Left Fade and Right Fade are separate pages.

Done when

Ten R2 fades to each side that complete the fade animation and produce Early / Late / green feedback instead of a plain jumper.

If it goes wrong

  • 01

    Changing the fade value first

    A cancelled fade is not a timing problem. Fix Insta-Stop first, then tune.

    Wrong trigger

    Left Fade is R2 + tap L1 while moving left. Right Fade is R2 + R3 while moving right. Moving the wrong way for the page you expect will not fire it.

    Turbo Fades confusion

    Turbo Fades On means R2 fades use the turbo hold windows (727–823 ms band) rather than the standing value. It changes the timing, not whether the fade completes.
